They include level access showers to promote independence, and are finished with modern style fixtures and fittings. Kitchens are fully equipped with cooker, freezer, fridge, washing machine. There is central heating throughout with panel radiators, all served by a communal boiler house. Central heating and hot water is included in the monthly rent amount.
There are emergency pull cords throughout the apartments and bungalows which will immediately alarm the scheme manager on duty, or central control when the manager is off duty.
There is also a communal laundry available, a guest suite which can be used by residents’ visitors for a small charge, and assisted bath facilities.
The Trust provides Scheme Managers, Irene and Lindsay, on site from Monday – Saturday, 9am-4pm. They offer help to residents relating to most matters such as arranging visits from medical professionals, helping residents organise transport, to collect prescriptions or do some shopping if they are unable to. Irene and Lindsay frequently liaise with families to keep loved ones informed. They also work alongside social services, so that residents can stay in their homes as long as possible.
The Scheme Managers also help new residents move into the development, making them feel welcome and part of the Michael Blannning Gardens community.
